ROOT   Landscape & Design  was started in 1998 by Amy Root.    She is a native Coloradan who grew up in Applewood, just outside of Golden.  And yes, her last name is actually Root.

Amy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Design and Horticulture from Colorado State University.  During her collegiate years and prior to moving back to Denver, she also worked for a local Nursery in Ft. Collins.   She still credits her time working at Fossil Creek Nursery as one of her best plant "classes."   Her 7 years there and her Horticulture degree ultimately enhances her ability to create beautiful designs using an extensive plant knowledge base.

Since 1998,  Amy has grown Root Landscape from the "ground up" her in the Wheat Ridge and surrounding areas.  Her and her crew of exceptional, hard working, like minded folks really do enjoy building beautiful landscapes each and every day for you.

"We are a small custom landscape design and build company located in Wheat Ridge, CO.  Our goal is to create beautiful, functioning landscapes that are suited for each client and their specific needs.  We are an affordable, dependable and very reputable landscape company ready to create a quality landscape for you that you will enjoy for years to come."  -Amy

Students in the Landscape Design and Construction focus on the use of plants in outdoor and indoor spaces for optimum living, working, and recreation. This concentration offers opportunities for students who can combine applied art and science courses in designing landscapes for residential, commercial, and small-scale public properties. Courses in this concentration include design principles, graphics, grading, construction methods, and the creative use of plant materials. Therefore, elective high school courses in art, design, or drawing are recommended.
